Cali, Colombia, November 25, 2021-The 2021 Pan American Youth Games was held today in Cali, Colombia, with the opening ceremony. The competition will be held from November 25th to December 5th, when nearly 3,500 athletes under the age of 23 from North America, South America and Central America will participate in more than 25 sports. Some contestants will also have the opportunity to be nominated by their names to participate in the 2023 Pan American Senior Games in Santiago, Chile. American gymnasts will participate in four Pan-American youth sports-men's rhythmic gymnastics, women's rhythmic gymnastics, rhythmic gymnastics and trampoline-as described below.

Gymnasts will compete for championships in team, all-around and individual events on six types of equipment: floor exercise, pommel horse, still life ring, vaulting horse, parallel bars and horizontal bars. The team and all-around competitions scheduled to be held on November 26 will also qualify for the finals.
