Wallingford, a former North Colony Road indoor trampoline park sold for $1.55 million.

Part of the former SkyZone Trampoline Park will be transformed into a virtual golf center called Back 9 Social, which will have 10 simulator bays, a full bar and a gastropub in an approximately 25,000 square foot property, occupying an area 11,000 square feet. The Hamden real estate agent Stephen Press (Stephen Press), who helped facilitate the deal, said the remaining 14,000 square feet (20 feet high) of the building had no supporting pillars for industrial or commercial use.

The buyer of the property, Ellis Reilly, and Wallingford-based home improvement contractor Raffaele Difonzo, purchased the property from Hamden LLC, Slomkowski Family Realty.

According to officials at Hartford Sentry Commercial, the 1.65-acre property went public in March with an asking price of US$1.3 million. SkyZone opened in Wallingford in 2014 and closed shortly after the 2020 spring pandemic hit Connecticut.

The appeal of virtual golf has developed in Connecticut, where golfers can simulate matches on some of the most famous courses in the world. Danbury Fair Shopping Center and North Haven stores have opened this year, joining similar facilities in Orange and Fairfield.
