Following an ice storm this weekend, Michelle Blackmann McNew's son went to hang out with a buddy in their Ozark neighborhood.

Soon, McNew — and the rest of the world — witnessed what mischief the two teens found in the backyard.

It started with an ice-covered trampoline. 

With seventh-grader Brody Berryman shooting video, Dylan McNew climbed to the top of a ramp platform and jumped, landing back-first on the trampoline.

"I couldn't see the whole thing," said Dylan McNew, an eighth-grader. "After I jumped, I felt the ice break and cover me. It was pretty cool."

The slow-motion video shot Sunday shows the ice shatter and then quickly gather in the middle of the trampoline. Dylan McNew — clad in jeans, a hoddie, a cap and high-top tennis shoes, ends up in the middle of the ice pile, smiling.

"He's a little nut, but I just pray a lot," Michelle Blackmann McNew told the News-Leader. "He's a little daredevil."

Asked if the Ozark Junior High teen — who turned 14 on Monday — asked permission first, she said: "Absolutely not."

But, once she saw the 57-second video, she got out a kick out of it. "I just said 'Wow, that was pretty awesome.'"

Dylan McNew said it didn't hurt and wasn't too cold.

He also confessed the teens had discovered the ice-covered trampoline — and made the same jump — on Saturday. But, there was less ice and no one was taking video.

Dylan McNew said his friend called Sunday, a little before noon, and summoned him over. The ice on the trampoline was thicker.

"It was a little bit scary but I thought it would be fun," he said

The teen said if the trampoline iced over again, he'd love to make the jump a third time. But, before he did, he'd offer Brody the chance to make the leap. 

He said the two families have been overwhelmed by the response. The video has been viewed more than 600,000 times. It was picked up by many media outlets, including CNN.

"I think it's crazy how much it has blown up," he said.
