RIMINI, Italy (May 24, 2022) - Nine World medalists, including Olympians Nicole Ahsinger (Lafayette, La./Trampoline and Tumbling Express) and Aliaksei Shostak (Lafayette, La./Trampoline and Tumbling Express) and reigning World double mini team champions Shelby Nobuhara (Mapleton, Utah/High Altitude) and Tristan Van Natta (Marysville, Ohio/Integrity Athletics), headline the U.S. contingent this week in Rimini, Italy. In total, 22 U.S. Trampoline & Tumbling National Team members are set to compete against athletes from 27 countries at the AERE Trampoline FIG World Cup May 27-28 at the Fiera di Rimini, while another 20 gymnasts will take part in the accompanying AERE Trampoline Cup, which will feature U.S. participation in two age groups: 13-16 and 17-21. The AERE World Cup kicks off Friday at 3 a.m. ET with the opening round of individual men's and women's trampoline qualifications. The men will qualify across seven groups with U.S. athletes assigned to Groups 2, 3, 4 and 7, and the women will compete in six groups with U.S. trampolinists in action with Groups 2, 3, 5 and 6. Two semifinal sessions will follow at noon ET. Women's double mini trampoline qualifications are set for 3:40 a.m. ET with men's qualifications beginning at 4:20 a.m. ET. Women's and men's tumbling qualifications will also take place Friday at 7:50 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. ET, respectively. Synchronized trampoline qualifications lead off Saturday's event slate from 3:45-6 a.m. ET. Tumbling finals will run from 8-8:50 a.m. ET followed by synchro finals from 8:55-9:40 a.m. ET. Double mini finals will commence at 9:45 a.m. ET, and individual trampoline finals will close out competition at 10:30 a.m. ET. The AERE Trampoline Cup will precede the World Cup May 25-27. The U.S. delegation, which boasts nine World Age Group medalists, will field competitors in individual and synchronized trampoline, tumbling and double mini in the 13-16-year-old age group and in trampoline in the 17-21-year-old division. Synchronized trampoline and tumbling qualifications in the 13-16-year-old division will run concurrently Wednesday from 9-10:20 a.m. ET. Individual 17-21 trampoline qualifications are set to begin at 11:40 a.m. ET, while 13-16 double mini qualifications will close out Day 1 at 1 p.m. ET. Individual 13-16 trampoline qualifications open competition Thursday at 3 a.m. ET. Double mini champions will be crowned from 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. ET, and tumbling finals will follow at 1 p.m. ET.
