Max Poveda, 15, a sophomore at Upland High School, will compete for Team USA in trampoline in the Aere World Cup, to be held May 27-28 in Rimini, Italy.

When he was 13, he won the national championship in double mini trampoline for ages 13-14 at the USA Gymnastics Championships.

Max had trained World Elite Gymnastics in Ontario until that gym closed permanently because of the pandemic.

He now trains six days a week at World Elite Gymnastics in Rancho Santa Margarita. His coaches are Austin White, who won a world title in double mini trampoline in 2015, and Logan Dooley, a two-time Olympian on trampoline in 2012 and 2016, according to an email from his family.
