Raleigh, N.C. — Lots of fun ideas for families this weekend!

Encanto Sing Along Concert - Get ready to "not talk about Bruno" on Sunday, Aug. 14, when a special screening and live concert featuring the hit Disney movie "Encanto" comes to Coastal Credit Union at Walnut Creek in Raleigh. "Encanto: The Sing-Along Film Concert Tour" will include a full screening of the movie with a live on-stage band performing all of the hits from the soundtrack. No live characters will be appearing at the event. It will just be the movie screening and the live band.

Skywatching: Perseid Meteor Shower at Dix Park - Volunteers from the Morehead Planetarium and Science Center and Raleigh Astronomy Club will be hosting this event from 9 to 11 p.m. Friday night. The Triangle Sax Ensemble will be providing music. Look through telescope, at the eclipse and other objects in the sky. Bring a blanket or chairs so you can relax under the stars. This is an informal session, so you can arrive and leave any time during the program.

Gipson Play Plaza Groundbreaking ceremony (701 Palmer Drive, Raleigh) - City officials and the Dix Park Conservancy will break ground on the Gipson Play Plaza on Sunday, Aug. 14. A celebration is planned 5 to 7 p.m. and will include ice cream, music, arts and more fun. The 18.5-acre Gipson Play Plaza will feature a collection of playgrounds and gathering spaces for children of all ages. There will be climbing towers, a picnic grove, waterfall wall, large sand pit and civic plaza for festivals and performances.

E.T. Movie Party (Marbles IMAX, 201 East Hargett Street, Raleigh) - Marbles IMAX is celebrating E.T. turning 40 with a special movie party on Friday from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Before you see the movie, make origami flowers out of recycled movie posters, wade through a maze to get through a spaceship and get your photo taken with a red hoodie on Elliott's bike.

Nintento Switch Road Trip at the Streets at Southpoint Mall in Durham - From Friday, Aug. 12, through Tuesday, Aug. 16, you can enjoy Nintendo fun in Durham. Pre-registration is recommended. The event allows you a chance to play demos of the latest games including Nintendo Switch Sports, Mario Strikers, Battle League and Kirby and the Forgotten Land.

Geek and Grub Market (Wizard Edition) (Mordecai Historic Park, 1 Mimosa St., Raleigh) - Grab your wand and wizard garb and enjoy an evening edition of this market. This event will feature live music, fun activities, yummy food and geeky Items from 40 local geek themed artisans. It will be kid-friendly from 7 to 8 p.m. After that, there will be more adult activities.

The Spongebob Musical (North Raleigh Arts and Creative Theatre (NRACT), 7713-51 Lead Mine Road, Raleigh) - The North Raleigh Arts and Creative Theatre presents this show based on the popular Nickelodeon cartoon. The show runs through Aug. 28.
