After the trampoline park in the southern suburbs was closed for violation of safety regulations, the village reopened.

Orland Park, Illinois-A trampoline park in the southern suburbs reopened after the village closed due to violation of safety regulations.

Sky District went to court on Tuesday and obtained an emergency order to continue business.

However, Orland Park Mayor Keith Pekaw said that he still wants to move the trampoline park outside the city.

"Anyone who saw the video, any parent who saw the video would be scared to death," Pekau said.

On September 12, the Oran Park police responded to reports of a fight, saying that they could barely enter the sky area to investigate.

They estimated that between 700 and 1,000 people (mainly children) were squeezed inside, creating a dangerous situation.

Pekao said: "It may be that anything has caught the attention of the crowd. Someone will be seriously injured or killed. This is unacceptable."

The mayor said that when the Sky Zone closed early, the situation got worse and hundreds of children were sent into the parking lot, and no one was ready to pick them up.

“We ended up summoning 50 other police officers from neighboring towns to control the crowd because these children were in danger and running around the parking lot,” Pekau said.

On Monday, the Orange Park Village Committee voted unanimously to permanently revoke Sky Zone’s business license.

But on Tuesday, Sky District filed a lawsuit against Oran Park and obtained an emergency order allowing them to remain open as long as they limit the capacity to 125 people and provide private security on weekends.

A spokesperson said in a statement: “There is no legal basis for revoking Sky Zone’s business license, and (this is) an unprecedented dramatic step.”

They also denied their overcapacity.

Customers who arrived in the Sky Zone on Tuesday night were basically unaware that the village was trying to close the trampoline park.

"I don't know what happened in September. If I knew it, I suspect it would have an impact on my decision tonight," a man said.

"It's funny because we really haven't done much in months. We don't go out often," said one girl.
