Japan won the World Trampoline Championship for the second time in a row in the women's team competition in Baku on Friday.

Reina Satake, Hikaru Mori and Yumi Takagi each performed outstandingly, with a total score of 164.245 points, leading China with 0.995 points, and once again on the podium of non-Olympic events after winning for the first time in 2019.

Before the start of the game in Azerbaijan, Sen was injured and won by a temporary team for the Japanese team.

"Japan's ability to handle (unexpected) situations has had a positive impact," Satake said. Although she found herself out of balance in the initial jump, she was among the best in the first batch of performers.

"I was selected to participate in the World Championship for the second time in a row, so I performed with gratitude. I remained calm and glad that I could carefully adjust my performance from the beginning."

Mori followed her with a triple backflip to score 55.555, ranking second among the second players before Takagi made no mistakes under pressure to end the game.

"I started to master how to perform in the competition," Mori said. He was out of the preliminaries for the individual events of the Tokyo Olympics and needed a one-month rest after the game.

"I'm surprised we can win it. I'm really happy to be at the top of the podium."

The Japanese team ranked second in the men's team competition. After Ryosuke Sakai, Hiroto Umino and Meteor Nishioka scored 178.335 points, they won their first medal since finishing third in 2017. Belarus won with 180.690 points.
