Bellicon GO Rebounder Practice Trampoline Review-The Gadgeteer

Recap-there is no "rebound" on my list of fitness items to try in 2021... but here we are! I am testing Bellicon GO sports trampoline and its online video service. Let's get ready to bounce. To review!

This is a sports trampoline for rebound (a low-impact fitness program based on a mini trampoline).

You will get a trampoline, including frames, mats and bungee jumping. Also includes a pair of grip socks. Need to assemble.

I am looking at the Bellicon GO model, which has the following specifications:

Bellicon makes a complete set of customizable sports trampolines/rebounds. The new GO series I'm testing is a "super value" brand (the products are not cheap!) and require home assembly. Bellicon also offers two different subscription-based online services and a bunch of programs to keep you going.

This review is divided into 3 parts. I will start with the assembly process. Then I will take you through their advanced Bellicon Live application. Later we will talk about the overall experience.

Although the original Bellicon products are pre-assembled, you can assemble Bellicon GO yourself. But don't be intimidated by it; assembly is a very simple matter. Everything is nicely packaged and organized to help you get started.

Out of the box, you will feel the quality of Bellicon GO. This German-designed trampoline has a sturdy steel structure, strong bungee jumping and a thick multi-layer mat surface that meets gym quality specifications.

The assembly instructions provide clear, detailed illustrations.

You will first attach the bungee cord to the heavy plastic clips at the bottom of the mat. Before you finish, there are more than 30 bungee jumps that need to be connected.

The steel frame is divided into 3 parts, you will assemble it into a loop, and then loop the bungee around the frame to connect back to those clips on the underside of the cushion.

Finally, you will screw into the 5 posts included in the package. When you start jumping on the trampoline, these pillars have rubber feet to help maintain stability.

Here it is fully assembled. It took me about 30 minutes to sort it out. Bellicon also includes a pair of grip socks in your package.

There is a guide on their website to choose the right bungee jumping based on your weight and training type. We have "strong" bungee jumping here, designed for high-intensity training up to 200 pounds. You can also choose options for mats of different colors, and some models have more configurations and accessories (such as T-bars for advanced exercises).

This is not a cheap piece of equipment (the model I am testing starts at $499), but the build quality is excellent. The frame is rock solid, and the multi-layer cushion is easy to clean and durable. This beast is not only in the built "lifetime buy" category, but it gives you confidence that it will not fail when you use it.

Bellicon offers two different subscription-based online products, which contain hundreds of exercise videos specifically designed for your trampoline. Bellicon Home is a browser-based video-on-demand system, updated once a week. Bellicon Live, I'm viewing it here, it is app-based and includes access to multiple live courses every day. Both services provide introductory videos, fitness plans, and progress tracking.

Log in to the Bellicon Live application, and you will see a full-day live lesson schedule hosted by teachers in different countries and time zones. If you want to plan ahead, Bellicon will also send you a weekly timetable via email.

The Bellicon Live application provides multiple ways to browse its ridiculously deep content catalog. Here, I chose HIIT as the type of exercise and showed me a real-time schedule of upcoming HIIT courses and a backup catalog of available on-demand videos.

The following is an example extracted when I browse by exercise intensity. You have a variety of options, from low-intensity programs for novices and people with physical disabilities to core programs for fitness enthusiasts. There are also programs suitable for different lengths of time to suit your schedule.

You can also browse by tutor, each tutor has specific expertise and style. Some programs also provide different languages. You can add any program you like to your own favorites list for quick retrieval, or download videos for offline use.

There is a huge amount of content here! With a little exploration, you can find almost anything that matches your training and time requirements.

When you choose a workout (real-time or recording), you can enter the full-screen mode to follow the coach. If you have completed any type of live or recorded training video before being familiar with this format. Most programs start with warm-ups, training of different intensities, and the coach’s enthusiastic guidance. If you have physical limitations, the coach will provide alternative techniques. The timer in the corner counts down the duration of the show.

I was pleasantly surprised to find that not everything is flexible here. There are a lot of content related to strengthening strength, developing stability exercises, core training, flexibility and even yoga, as shown below. Everything is combined with a trampoline in one way or another.

I calculated that 17 different lecturers can provide multiple languages ​​through a real-time application. Live courses are streamed from all over the United States and Europe, with different time zones, so you can find live events that fit your schedule.

You may spend a lot of time browsing hundreds of videos, but Bellicon Live’s extensive catalog makes it very easy for you to try different programs to find what moves you. You can also run the application on third-party TV services, such as ROKU, Apple TV, and Android TV (Amazon Fire is in development).

I didn't spend much time on the Bellicon Home service, but the content came from the same directory. The biggest difference is that the family service is browser-based and does not provide real-time courses. The Live application is updated weekly instead of daily (I believe the Live application provides more content overall).

There are also price differences. The cost of the Live application is approximately US$20 per month, and the cost of the Home service is approximately US$10 per month. Both offer discounts for annual subscriptions. Both products include a trial period you purchase.

If you told me a year ago that my chunky and uncoordinated self would do trampoline, I would say you are crazy. But you know what? I'm digging!

My lack of coordination is accompanied by a pair of bad knees, so I must be careful with high-intensity exercises. The trampoline is cute and allows you to build aerobic exercise and stability through low-impact exercises. Here, I am doing high knees, which I might avoid on a flat surface.

I really like the breadth and depth of the programs available on the Bellicon Live app. Some basic tutorials and procedures can start slowly when you are used to using the trampoline, allowing you to build strength when you are used to it. You can become nervous very quickly. I'm in the middle of an interval training program that alternates between jumping jacks, lateral jumping, running, and a whole bunch of other things.

The sturdy structure of Bellicon GO gives you confidence when you get used to these actions; it is very stable and powerful, even with aggressive lateral movements or high jumps like I do here. You do have to work hard to maintain balance, but you will never feel that things will fall to you. I will know. I am a clumsy idiot.

I was pleasantly surprised by the diversity of the show. There are programs and trainers that focus on people with physical disabilities, aerobics enthusiasts, dance style programs, high-intensity training, core stability, upper and lower limb strength, and even low-intensity work for children. I really think the app shines here. This may be an investment of $10 or $20 per month, but they do a great job of constantly adding new content to challenge you and confuse things.

There are also accessibility factors that need to be considered. You can set up a trampoline anywhere in your home, complete your work, and hide it in a corner or closet when you are done. In addition to long routines, I like to pull it out when doing strength training, so that I can do some quick training between groups. This is very convenient, you can start working without setting up.

A note about footwear: Bellicon recommends that you use backboards barefoot or wearing socks that have grip. Sneakers are also fine, but ordinary socks have the risk of slipping.

I enjoy rebounding more than I expected when using Bellicon Go. I really like the improvement I feel in terms of stability, core strength and aerobic endurance, without knee pain. It is not cheap, but I believe the quality of Bellicon GO is consistent with its price point as a long-term and reliable exercise tool. Online services are also not cheap, but if you plan to make rebounds a regular part of your daily exercise, you will get value for money from the quality and variety of content.

I noticed that you are using a trampoline and shoes. Do they recommend? I believe they will give you more support, but won't they wear the springboard faster?

Bellicon recommends barefoot (or grip socks) to help build foot stability and strength, but they do not recommend wearing shoes. Some of their coaches wear shoes in their videos. I usually follow the teacher what to do.

I don't think you will wear the cushions with sneakers under any circumstances. This is a super durable surface!
